      This volume is aimed at students of Italian LS/L2 who intend to take the Certit B1 language certification exam, provided by the University of Roma Tre. Specifically, the B1 level is a necessary requirement for foreign citizens to obtain Italian citizenship.

      The book is structured in three sections, one of a theoretical nature and two of a practical nature. The first part presents the structure of the exam and also explains the correction criteria applied by the revisers, useful for students to fully understand the nature of the test. Parts 2 and 3, which are applied, prepare the candidate for passing the exam. In particular, section 3 constitutes a true simulation of the entire test and is in fact composed of: listening, reading, written production and oral production.

      The volume is accompanied by Mp3 audio files, transcripts of the listening tests, exercise keys and a facsimile of the answer sheet, available on the web page at www.hoeplieditore.it.

      Martina Raimondi is a PhD in Language Sciences at the University of Roma Tre.

      Giuseppina Vitale is PhD in Language and Language Theory at the University of Naples L’Orientale.

      The authors, with different roles, are Certit members at the CLA of the University of Roma Tre.
